Mobicon celebrates the sale of Mobicon 100

The Mobicon team is excited to announce the sale of the 100th Mobicon to BestBar in the steel industry! With the Mobicon straddle carrier designed in 1994, the first Mobicon was sold and on the road by 1997 to the logistics company FH Transport. Tom Schults, owner of Mobicon recounts the story of the first Mobicon sale: “I knew the owner of FH transport, and asked if he would take the Mobicon to trial in their yard, and to test the mechanics of the machine. After two weeks of using the Mobicon he said “Tom, don’t take this machine out of my yard anymore” and he bought it!

Since then, the Mobicon has also received multiple awards for its innovative design from logistic and manufacturing institutions. The Mobicon has seen many modifications since the first machine, and continuous improvements have seen some machines clocking up in excess of 10,000 hours without any frame failures. Sales are consistently increasing both nationally and worldwide, with sales offices in Australia, South Africa and the USA. Sales figures show that once a company has bought one Mobicon, they typically buy more – due to the reliability and versatility of the machine. The future looks very bright for the Mobicon, with Tom Schults and the Mobicon team looking forward to soon selling Mobicon 200!
